Then check whether the complete source directly supports that exact statement, for that exact product, while accounting for the study’s design and limitations.

Wellness decisions often sit between two unhelpful extremes: believing every confident claim or dismissing every unfamiliar idea. A better approach is evidence-aware curiosity. You can stay open to a personal routine while being precise about what is known, what is proposed, and what remains uncertain.
First, label the statement
Before judging whether a statement is convincing, decide what type of information it contains.
- Verified physical fact: A checkable feature such as size, adhesive format, package quantity, current price, or whether an app is required.
- Manufacturer-stated theory: The maker’s explanation for how a product may work. For ANF, the manufacturer describes its products as amplifying frequencies already present in the body.
- Study finding: A measured result from a defined method, group, time period, and analysis.
- Customer experience: One person’s account of what they noticed. It can be meaningful to that person without predicting what another person will experience.

- Duration: Was the observation long enough to answer the question being asked?
- Size of result: Was the difference large enough to matter in real life, not only statistically detectable?
- Limitations: What did the authors say the study could not establish?
- Replication: Have independent groups found something similar?
What does “peer reviewed” tell you?
Peer review means other qualified readers evaluated a paper before publication. It is a useful quality-control step, but it is not a guarantee that the conclusion is correct, complete, or applicable to a specific product. Study design, data quality, transparent reporting, and independent replication still matter.
Likewise, a patent does not prove that a product produces a claimed outcome. A patent concerns an invention and its legal requirements. It is not an outcome trial. A certificate may verify a particular test or process, but its meaning depends on what was actually certified.
How should you read customer reviews?
Reviews are best used to understand context: how a product fits into a routine, what the packaging experience was like, whether instructions felt clear, and what individuals personally noticed. Reviews do not control for expectations, other routine changes, time, or natural variation. Positive and negative experiences can both be genuine without establishing an average result.

- A technical term is used without a clear, testable definition.

- A disclaimer appears, but the surrounding copy still promises diagnosis, treatment, cure, or prevention.
